I have 2 HUGE and Beautiful Angels. I get complimented on them constantly. I have had one of them for 4 1/2 years now (approx 8 inches) and the other one I have had for 1 1/2 years ( approx 5 inches). I have raised them from tiny babies. I am really interested in breeding them but I know nothing about breeding Angels. Is anybody an Angel breeder or do you have any info that could help me? Do any of you know a really good website(s) on breeding them.

Thanx:D

Im not sure if this is the best way to do it, but heres what I did...

I transported them to an empty 30 imp gallon tank (empty of fish, not h2o!) which had gravel and a few broad leaved amazon sword plants. The water was very soft with a ph of 7, but I reacon 6.5 is better.

I fed them exclusivley on frozen food - mostly bloodworm and then some shrimp, daphnia and brine shrimp. I suppose live would be optimal though.

I also added kent blackwater expert (imitating amazonian condidtions) and slowly raised the temp from 26 >28 degrees over a week.

Afetr about 10 days they liad and fertilised the eggs on the plants, and after a few day the fry were free swimming. The parent fish seemed to be safe in with the numerous, tiny fry.

I initially fed them on infrusia, then a lfs egglayers liquid fry food, then onto baby brine shrimp and finally crushed flake.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
