After the copper fiasco with my shrimp tank, I had 1 adult cherry shrimp, 3 juveniles, and 2 babies left out of 5 adults, 13 juvies, and around 10 babies. The adult is saddled, the others are still only about 3/4." Just did a water change, and a third (and smaller) baby shrimp crawls out of the bamboo cave! So happy! When you only have a small number of shrimp, finding an extra one is awesome!

My friends and family dont really understand my love of these little guys, so had to share my excitement about the new baby with people who might actually care ;)

Still have to supplement the gene pool and get another half dozen since 3 are siblings and the ones in there look so spread out and lonely, but just had a rather pricey car repair bill and had to pay for puppy obedience class, so fish budget is out for a few months. Maybe I'll get some birthday money from my parents tomorrow.

I understand how it is when you have a small population and you are able to "know" each shrimp. I wouldn't worry about adding any new shrimp for a while. In a month or so, maybe. You don't have to diversify your bloodline yet.

If you want to, though, and can't afford it, you can always just make a plea in the SNS for some one to do an ROAK for a few of them and say that you'll happily pay shipping/handling. Three or four are all you need to diversify your gene pool.

The worst that could happen is that noone will reply... but I bet someone does. There are some good-hearted folks in AC.

I understand how happy you mush be! Whenever my fish give birth I jump around with glee. :perv:
I had a small problem with my cherries and most got eaten :( but i have a separate tank for them now and hopefully they will begin to breed and colonize. :D
