Well seeing as I'll be gone in Hawaii for over a month, I think it's time to share some photos and new stock/ projects I'm working on! I've finally found a great looking female Jack Dempsey for my lovely male EBJD. He's taking a liking to her a they swim trough out there half of the 55 breeder together all the time. My BGJD on the other side haven't given me a successful spawn in awhile. I'm thinking when I get back, I'll heavily stock the stock with more plants and wood, change the gravel, given them different lighting and some dithering fish. Do you all think both pairs will be fine together? I have them divided who knows. I was thinking of angel fish as dithers seeing as Rich on here was able to pull it off I should be able to! My red ceibals will be leaving me when I get back and going to Mike aka Pittbull as a trade for some more rainbows! Earl the Black Dragon as my friends now call him is growing fast, I'm shocked that I'm able to keep him with rainbow cichlids!! My Wild True Parrots are growing fast aggression levels have gotten lower but certain individuals are still pretty nasty. I have two that are my favorite, there calm, have great personality, and look just fantastic. There the 2 I photograph the most, they always give me amazing shots! My Wild Chocolates aren't growing as fast as I'd hope but there known to be slow growers I'll just have to sit and wait. Luckily they start getting there adult coloring in by the size of 4inches. This is also when they start pairing off. I'm excited to start getting pairs out of these beauties and to make room by selling off the others. Right now there around 2.5-3.5inches. I've gotten into Pleco recently after attending a local fish auction. I saw a 7inch Royal Pleco sell for just $45!!!! That's crazy! I see them at 3inches for $55, a specimen that size would be easily over $100! I was going to buy a pair of bristlenose Pleco but held off on them because I was waiting for a breeding pair of Blue Eyed Cichlids to be auctioned off... I lost the bid by a dollar, see you have to pay in cash, I only had $30 on me after buying some juvi Pleco and a 15gallon tank. The guy next to me got the pair for $31. I also got a very nice juvi Polypterus senegalus at least thats how it was listed I'm not sure if it truly is a senegalus. Anyway back on track, I've taken a liking to Pleco and I'm going to try my luck at breeding them. I want to later get into some rarer species, but for now I'm trying the common bristlenose, the the clown pleco, and so on. A breeder on here will be selling some of there spawns this spring. I plan on buy 6 of her L134 Plecos. I'm still raising some 19 BGJD fry, no EBJD sadly so looks like I'll have to wait for there next spawn to harvest them.
Ok I won't continue my rambling anymore, here are the photos I've taken.
More to come!
