Anyone know of any good sites or books for identifying if glass knick-knacks are of any value? I have alot of things from when I was little, and don't really know how to find out if they are worth anything. If anyone is into that stuff that could give some pointers/tips that would be great!!!

(but I know most of it is junk, so I don't plan on getting rich just yet  )

I collect some depression glass. I have had luck IDing stuff by looking through ebay auctions to se how the sellers have IDed stuff, and if you get into their community area there are is a glass forum, and if you chat with the folks there you may find someone that can ID some of your stuff.

What kinds of things do you have? I'd take a stab at it if it's something I know something about. I have some reference books, but my interests are mainly depression glass, collectible glassware from the 50's. 60's and 70's and old kitchen items.
Another thing I do is go to Barnes and Noble and look for books in the antique section and look through until I find what I have.

I wonder if you contacted Corning ware in Corning NY...they have a sort of glass museum there and plenty of folks who know their glass. I'm not sure how you would contact them but do a search for corning glassware and maybe something will come up.

I know I've seen some books on glassware at a few antique shops I've been to. That tells me they have them-so check the library first, then if nothing there-hit the bookstores!

Sorry, can't give any info, but we have some very old soda bottles. Wonder if they are worth anything? One is from way back in April of 1924.

Thanks for the ideas, I know that most of it is junk more or less (think dollar store :D ), but I have a rabbit that I did a search for b/c it has a name on the bottom (bigwig 1978,1982 watership) and a google search came back with one site that was selling it for $40. But even that has an ear that was reglued... However, my grandma has a whole cabinet of stuff I'd love to go through, I am sure she has some very expensive items, I know shes had some it since she was young

Anyone ever make any money on anything they have/found?

Make money??? I wish. I'm too much into the "aquisition" side of it :D
I enjoy looking up things I have and seeing what they are and what they are worth, and the knowledge I got a good deal on something. I like looking at the books and trying to learn the patterns so I can spot a fake, and recognize something that's a good deal.

Oh, I bet your rabbit is from the book/movie "Watership Down" by Richard Adams. It's a great book!!! It was written in the 60's (?) and a movie came out right around '78. Wonderful book and one of the main bunny characters was Bigwig. :)
Doesn't really help you on if it's worth anything, but interesting!
