my anubia nana plants don't grow normal size like they used to. lieves still super green and no algae is on them, there are many of them but they don't get bigger. I don't have and don't want to use CO2, my light is fluorecent bulbs and 65W each, 2 of them, over 55g tank. I feed fish good so there is a good amount of nutrients, but they are not planted in the gravel for I removed the gravel. I add minerals every week for discus. they aren't prety because of it, so i put them in the back of my driftwood, so i kinda was hoping that if lieves start growing normal I could have them so i could see them. thanx

I don't know much about Anubias however I experienced the same thing happened to me. Please correct me if I am wrong with my observations and assumptions below:

1. From the local fish store it is left in the dark (my lfs)
2. A defective Anubias from a nursery
3. When tying it to driftwood, Anubias probably needs space for new roots. I tied one of mine a bit tight to a driftwood and that one produced many new shoots with micro leaves. Another rhizome tying loose to the driftwood also produced new shoots but leaves starts with small leave but bigger and bigger. A few months later, I decided to untied the first one retied only the old roots - my new method does work as I see new roots are coming and it is now start having bigger leaves.

From the above observations, I assume that when something strongly blocks its new roots Anubias would produces many small shoots on its rhizome and has less energy to produce big leaves to the correct size.

Sorry it is just my experience.

they just sitting at the bottom and not attached to anything. since I moved them in the back they probably get the same light or a little less. at some point for some reason the stem lost almost all lieves and there were only few large left and good amount of tiny but not as many as there now, but oddly they don't grow and few bigger lieves don't fall off. i can cranck up the light and turn on another two bulbs 65W each if needed. oh, forgot to say that the bulbs are 10,000K, which i thought wasn't a big deal considering that i have glass cover. i can also move anubias to the front and they'll get sun light if that's a good idea. I actually don't see any difference with my wide leaves anubias and they get the sun light and they were the same when they weren't getting it. I haven't been able to block out the sun, so i just use UV for green water issues. these anubias used to have normal size lieves, when i first got them, and i'm not sure what happened. oh, and they used to be under 80W fluorecent 6500K and wasn't as many little lieves as there now. i just threw everything in that i can remember. hope it's not confusing. thank you guys for helping me figure this thing out

should i move them where they can get sun light? or should I turn another 2 bulbs on? they aren't pretty so i keep them behind driftwood.

I turned another 2 bulbs on and it causes bad green water right away. i don't want to run my UV all the time because it's too much flow for my fish, so i'm going to move plants to the front.
