For anubias plants, can you plant the rhizome in the substrate as long as it's not very deep? I have a couple of anubias species, but not enough driftwood to mount it all to...

If you don't have driftwood, use rocks :) Just pick a couple of nice rocks that you like, scrub them in some bleach water, rinse them well, and soak them in some water with a 3-4 times dose of dechlorinator. Tie the anubias to them and you are good to go :D

Hello James,

I have kept various kinds or types of Anubias in my tank, and onething I have learn is you NEVER burried the Rhizome, the roots can be burried in the gravel, however that is the only part of these plants which you to burried. The majority of them are slow growing, they can however grow a little faster if you fertilize your tank regularly, and provide addequate CO2 levels.

Sincerely,
Aquario72.

I don't currently have any of the rhizomes buried. They're either attached to driftwood, or wedged temporarily between a rock and driftwood. I'll look at attaching them to rocks when I get home. :)

Thanks for all the input.

anubias will grow if you let it drift around in the tank.
it just looks nice attached.
btw it will eventually settle and attach. ;)
