Any cheap alternative media for canister filters?

What are you planning on replacing?
The sponges last a few years and the bio should last many years. The only thing you should be replacing is the fine pad, which you can use regular filter floss for 2.50 a bag or some folks use pillow batting which I think is the same stuff.

If I still had them, yes. :D

When I moved, I think it was either lost or thrown away by accident by someone. I noticed my 2215 was empty and I cannot find the media...

I got this stuff at a Meijer (Midwest version of a super Walmart but better) for 3.99 or 4.99. I used a good chuck of the bag and there is still a lot left.

In Canada, Big Als sell Ehfimech- 1Liter for $16, Eheim Coarse Blue Pad For Eheim 2215 also $16. I sent a question to that eBay guy for shipping to Canada. I have a feeling that it would be around $15.

Unfortunately, I also have two more 2217 with no media... :mad2: Looking at those rates above, its still going to cost me a small fortune...

yep granny told me about that stuff and i got a roll that i cut to fit in my mag350 and my xp3
