Has anyone discovered an effective ich/ick medication that can be used with inverts and live rock? I have a tank with live rock, cleaner shrimp, hermits, turbos, 2 pec clowns, purple firefish, and a flame angel.
Prior to me getting the LR, I tried No-Ich marine and it didnt work. I used it for nearly two weeks with no results. In fact, the fish got worse during that time and I was forced to do a copper treatment. Then I had to deal with the aftermath of removing the copper from my tank and restocking my inverts. I also switched to LR at the time too.

Lets see, I've also tried Kent Rx P which is a pepper solution for parasites - doesnt work either.

I cant seem to find anything that is invert friendly that works. The copper did REAL well. In fact, it saved my fish during that bad outbreak. But obviously I will not be using copper again in my tank.

Try moving the fish into a hospital tank for treatment, and leave the main tank fish free, and raise the temp to about 85, for about 6-8 weeks. I know that sucks, but the parasite can not survive without a fish host, so will die off in the main tank and you can use the effective copper medications for the fish.

Good luck with the copper... I'm not having very good luck with it at all.

I can put almost 25 drops worth of dose in my QT tank (a 10g) and it barely raises the level of dissolved copper according to my test kit. Not sure what to do next... Keep dosing it until the kit reports the proper level (.15) and risk killing the fish if the kit or the copper is bad or just leave everything alone and leave the low dose in there.

Not sure what to do... The fish keeps eating like a (ahem) horse but he doesn't seem to be getting better. I'm going to give him a fresh water bath once I get him acclimated to a lower salinity in his QT tank.

Silly question?

Perhaps I am being silly...but why didn't your cleaner shrimp aid the removal of the ich? I had a similar problem and in fact i called in a nuclear or naplam strike with copper. The next day, I had to play the music from the movie, Platoon from all of the lost inverts...mainly crabs. I believe that the levels of copper are finally tapering down and I am reintroducing inverts. Scary stuff that copper is. Now it's been over 2 weeks and then I have put in a cleaner wrasse...and NONE of my fish are exhibiting signs of Ich...which is NICE.
