I know I'm supposed to get another common goldfish for my new 100gal. But I think after all I've been thru with the current "survivor" goldfish, I'd rather leave the goldfish in the pond. Is there anything else I could put in with him?

How big is the goldfish in the 100 gal tank? Is that all thats in there?

I have mine in a 29 gal. mine are common fantails and calicos fairly small. Ive got two angels in there with them. They seem to get along fine. Also.. and this is weird.... I have a bloody parrot with them. Not the most logical of tankmates, but I had to do something with the parrot. She was in my 55 gal with my other parrot and he kept fighting with her and pulling her scales and she started losing color and turning black. Iput her in there while I tried to figure out what to do. She was in there for a week before her color came back and she got along great with the goldfish. Shes been in there for 2 yrs now.

goldfish shouldn't be mixed with tropical fish. They may get along but they all have very different needs... their temp needs are different, their water needs are different, their diet needs are different.... having 2 angels, a goldie, and a BP is overstocking that tank a bit too..... have you thought about getting another?

amyandlars..... if you want to get more fish for your tank, more fancy goldies would work or other cold water fish..... and the list of coldwater fish varies by taste. Remember htough, as the goldfish grow, as you know, they grow fast and anything they can fit into their mouth to eat, they will.

goldfish do fine at tropical temps on the colder side, like up to 74. the reason goldfish dont like warm water is because of the lower amount of oxygen, so be sure to keep the water well oxygenated.
