I am looking for new things to feed to my Pleco, and I wanted to know if theres anything special that they like. I'm not sure what (if anything) the owners before fed it, but I feed it 1-2 algae wafers per night, and it loves them!:) I wanted to vary its diet a little, because I'm sure it would appreciate it!

Any suggestions?

BTW- If it makes any difference in what it eats, its a Panaque cochliodon... I don't know much about Plecos, so I don't know if theres a difference in what different species prefer. Thanks!;)

You could try blanched zuchinni squash (courgette), many algae eaters go crazy for it and it's full of vitamins. If you don't blanch it it can be too hard for them to digest and it will also float!
Some fish also enjoy thawed frozen green beans, carrots and peas.
To my knowledge, most suckermouth catfish also like to have 'meaty' foods on occasion, so it doesn't hurt to feed them regular bottom feeder pellets, shrimp pellets etc. every once in a while.

What does "blanched" mean? Ive seen it all over, and still don't know:sad I feel dumb for asking that:p

Thanks a lot, everyone! I put a peice of wood in there, and it really likes it. I will try some of your suggestions.

to blanch something, you just dip it in boiling water till it gets a little soggy. for romain lettuce, takes about 5 seconds, if that. I feed it to my fish sometimes, all of them like it. I'm not sure about how long the spinach takes. and they do like driftwood. My pleco (RIP) used to like hanging from underneath the driftwood for shade during the day so he/she might like it if you prop the driftwood up on something so it can hang from underneath it.

Sorry about that, I should have explained! Just place the slice of zuchinni/spinach leaf/etc. in boiling water for a few seconds and then into icy water to stop it from cooking any further. Once it's room temperature, you can drop it in the tank or, if it's still inclined to float you can tie it to a little rock or the driftwood and the fish will have a feast!
