any way to reverse severe snail shell erosion

snail iam looking at getting is quite large but has craters and crevices from erosion of its shell but hasn't gone to the body of the snail.
 
no, there isn't really anyway to reverse it you can just prevent it from getting worse. if it gets to the point where its through the shell in critical areas you can patch.
 
Well, if you really love your apple snail, then it's an amazing thing to have.
But for the common ramshorn, or pond snail, maybe a little too much work to keep the pests alive.
 
Unless your snail has holes over the organs or the shell is unstable due to a severe fissure, you probably don't need to patch. Do you have any pictures of your snail?
 
no pics of the snail i was thinking of patching up , old applesnail a little bigger than a golfball , pale yellow shell, but all parts of the shell look as if the snail was sprayed with a acid of some sort. none of the shell exposes the snails body it just looks like it has been through hell aand back. its still at the lfs and if it isn't a diffusa ill probably get it. still have to id it based on shoulder angles i got from applesnail.net.
