anyone else do the fish food sniff test?

I used to eat Apple Snacks on a regular basis when I used to ride and work at a stable. Not sure what was all in them, but they were 1/2 inch pellets of oats or something and apple. SOO GOOD!!

Mmm horse grain does smell good...and fresh hay! :D

Don't care for fish though, so I avoid smelling the fish food at all times.

The pelleted formula I buy from my vet for my cockatiel is organic and has no perservatives and it says you have to smell and taste it before use to make sure it is still good. It seemed to have a bit of a ...maple syrupy taste:p

I don't use the sniff test to diferentiate between foods, but I do use the strength of the smell to give myself a note on how fresh my food is... if it don't smell it at all it gets thrown out... way to old

Zupreem (bird food) Looks just like trix, smells kind of like trix.. but believe me, it doesn't taste like trix. at all.

The horse food thing sounds good. When I was younger we used to eat the biscuts we were supposed to be feeding to our military dogs - it's OK though, we gave them all they were supposed to get and more. LOL

While my Sun Conure eats good smelling and tasting stuff, this thread got my attention - I just finished feeding my fish a snack of frozen brine shrimp. No, thank you. I would not want to eat that.
