Hi guys...I am interested in getting the Odyssea 10 gallon acrylic tank...was just wondering if any of you have had one of these tanks and hows the quality? its a cheap tank...being around $40 for a acrylic with filter and light etc...I am mainly interested in know the quality of the acrylic...like acrylic thickness...and clarity...thanks in advance...

BAD tank! Warning!

I bought this tank over ebay eventually since no one replied with reviews on it...so I just though to take my chances on it...but it was a bad one...:mad2:
I got the tank today and everything came ok...but the seller didn't even put padding or bubble wrap to package it well.
I checked the tank cover-ok...the filter-ok...but I noticed the seller didnt replace the 50/50 bulb with a regular daylight PC bulb as we have discussed.
Then came the tank itself...upon inspection...I almost fainted  .
It had scratches all over! Of course it scratches easily since its acrylic but all my tanks are acrylic and I am careful not to damage them...
This tank however looked like it was picked out of the garbage dump! Not kidding you.
It looked like someone had taken a sandpaper and rubbed it all over the inside of the tank. Its just really bad...
Furthermore looking at the bow front part of the tank...there are a couple of places that looked like the acrylic melted and sunk in/indented.
:(
I think I will just take some pics to illustrate...I also have contacted the ebay seller...and am waiting for a response...

That sounds like more of a problem with the seller then the product. I'm also interested in one as an incubation/hospital tank. Any other reviews?

Thanks

I must have missed this post. I actually don't recommend to anyone that they buy product from the odyssea / jebo / jebao brand line. Quality control on these products is generally suspect. That is not my actual reasoning however. These products in general are Chineese knockoffs that are being allowed to sell here because the government has seemingly decided its ok to ignore patent laws. If you look through online adds for their filters you will often find lines reading these are inexpensive cousins of eheim / fluval filters. Nice way of saying cheaper made rip offs, but given their pricing its hard to get people to stop buying their products. I mean a 2x65 watt cf light fixture for $50 plus shipping is a steal.

I got you, lower quality stuff, plus they don't add anything to the market since they don't spend money on research and development and don't release anything new.

Reviews

I havent seen any reviews online either...so I will post some pics on this...I can tell you the quality control is bad. The plastic is ok...not good quality plastic like the more expensive stuff but for a hospital tank etc...its ok...
But the main problem is the tank itself...cause mine had indentations on the front like bad molding etc...

More pics

Here's some pics of the Filter that came with it...its a Odyssea Power Filter 10: Rated for 5-10 gal Aquarium. On the box it says Powerful 95GPH Motor and One Year Warranty. It also has their website: http://www.odysseausa.com/

But theres nothing there yet...

The filter comes with a level adjuster but even with this the filter still won't sit perfectly level with the tank...this is caused by the overly wide space between water output spout.

is it like a rip-off of Marineland, or Hagen (by the looks of the filter)?
