...or tried and true methods for trapping a fish without taking all you rock out--OR buying a $40 fish trap? I need to get my Trigger out of the tank. I'm thinking of breaking out my fly rod and seeing if he likes a SanJuan worm, or maybe a nymph of some sorts:laugh:

heh, build a trap, big netted box, when you see it in there close the trap.

I used an old school method to catch my power blue tang.

It requires EXTREME patience.

Turn off all filter/powerhead, so there is no current in the water. Place food at the bottom of the tank and hold the net right next to it (with food in between net and glass). You might be saying.. No way.. the fish will never risk coming so close to the net to eat. That's why I said it requires EXTREME patience... I waited for about 35 minutes before the fish even started showing interest.. waited another 15 minutes or so for the fish to relax and start moving in between the glass and the net... and then BAM! My arm felt like it was going to fall off.

Then I told myself... "should've just moved the rock"

:)

Hahaha. I've placed a vase inside the tank. I'll bait it this weekend--figured I'd let him get used to the extra object. (One of my clowns is hosting it already)
I bet I end up moving the rock.

one of my stupid employs(ex employs) put a huge lunar wrasse in a 500 gallon account tank with delicate inverts when i was on vacation and i had to get hi out. i just got a huge bag put in some food and he swam in and i pulled the bag out took me 1 min and my co worker tried for 1 hour with nets and traps lol.
