I was thinking about setting a webcam up on my tank, have any of you done that? Anyone found one that does well in low light? Anyone found one that is submersible? My tank is set up at my office (since I spend more time there than at home) and I would like to be able to look in on my tank at night.
Anyone use a webcam? (on their tank)

Seriously though, never thought of that. But it could be done!!
I have made a simple UW camera using a USB web cam some ABS sewer pipe and Plexiglass. I use it when I go to the boat in san diego. the boat is next to a pylon and interesting to watch the fish down there. it can do pretty well in low light. the cable is only 16 ft so anything more is hard.

I have seen of course the webcams for city aquariums.. but not many personal ones, that would be fun... Plexiglass tube good idea as stated above I would imagine use aquarium sealer put clear plexi on the front and drill a small hole in the pvc.. and I imagine a long enough usb cable be waterproof enough (they're cheap anyways) .. fill the hole where the cable comes out with aquarium sealer, seal on somekind of backplate and mount a large suction cup 
.. yes I can picture how that could work *ponders* .. if I had the money i'd go out and buy all the pieces to experiment right now

i used the ABS pipe because the pipe is thick and I can drill strait into it. I screwed the plexiglass to the pipe with stainless steel screws and sealed it with aquarium sealant front and back. for the cord I cut a little dip in the end of the pipe and added sealant and the screwed the glass down. kinda hard to explain without a pic.
