Anyone use Python No Spill/Clean ?!

Hi there,

I recentley purchased a python no spill siphon system/kit. I am wondering what your thoughts are on it and how you use it, as I know it says to connect to the tap ?

Thanks!

I bought it recently and I wish I would have bought it with my very first tank.
I thought at the time that it would only fill, but I didn't realize that it also uses the water pressure to remove water automagically.

I could have skipped sooooo many trips with water filled buckets across the house.

I agree, I love it. I can do all of my tanks in one night. I still clean my tank using a regualr gravel cleaner, but I use this to fill the tanks and do water changes.

Does anyone use this to clean their tanks?

How does it deal with plant material getting sucked up through it?

I love my python, I cant see how I did it without it.
Could have saved me tons of trips from the tub to the tank and not to mention the back pain and water spills.

I use mine for filling, water changes, and gravel vac's.
handles everything like a champ.

Now the question I have is - it connects to the faucet, and when the water goes through, isnt that putting chlorine into the tank :s I am kind of scared becuase ever since I did the water change my fish are acting funny and kinda sick :S
I followed the instructions step by step and then of course added in the conditioner and nitrite/nitrate/ammonia/chloramine remover. Eeeeps! did I do something wrong?! I am a newbie at this and try to follow to the book as much as possible but things just dont seem to be working out too well here, Im trying so hard and have spent so much money to get this far.

If I add anything, I add straight to the tank at the start of the refill. Did you adjust the temperature (mix of cold/hot) before the refill? You might have caused a large temperature swing.

I made sure it was very close to the tanks tempature and even tested the water I chose w/ my underwater thermometer. They are doing better now that they had overnight to relax a bit, my Twig catfish got a bit more of the stress but is now sucking away at the tank walls :D

I bought a Python recently and I have to agree w/ everybody else. I can't believe the amount of time and back pain carrying buckets took me!

I always add the conditioners first before adding the water into the tank, simply b/c we have city water and the first few times my platies went into shock. Now they swim around it and nip at it too.

Next time you clean out your tank try adding your chem's in first and see if that makes a difference.
