Howdy, first post.
I have two tanks, a 6 gallon and a 46 gallon and both are cycling with live fish.
I have API test strips for Ammonia and 5 in 1 which includes both Nitr*tes tests.
The 6 gallon is one week older than the 46 and has an Ammonia reading of what looks like 0 but the edges of the pad are turning darker green, indicating 3.0 - 6.0. The 46 gallon tank shows 0 for Ammonia and no edge coloration.
For the 5 in 1 strips my NO3 is always somewhere between 0 and 20 and my NO2 is 0.5 (exact color match).
Are these test strips any good?
