I finally got my Apisto Viejita to spawn!
I have about 40-50 fry in a 10 gallon to grow them out.
I'm super excited, these are one of my favorite fish!

Here's a picture of dad:Apisto Viejita.jpg

I'm growing them out in RO water and feeding lots of microworms.
Mom and Dad are in tap water now, just seeing if they will spawn in that environment.
I've found that conditioning with frozen foods and Repashy Spawn and Grown formula have worked out very well with them for spawning.

Once the fry are large enough I will be selling them.
I will make a post on the marketplace in a few months.

Yea, I've been swamped busy at work the last several months and it's finally starting to let up (knock on wood).

I've been working on quite a few things, plants, breeding plecos and angels.
This year I'll be updating my denison barb tank to a 90 gal planted tank and building by back room racks.
You'll be seeing plenty of me around in the upcoming months.

Congratulations. Will you be upgrading to Baby Brine Shrimp (BBS) in a week or going straight to Repashy?

I picked up a group of A. cacatuoides Orange Flash a few weeks ago and a pair of A. nijsseni Saturday. Never spawned apisto's before but I have spawned a lot of other dwarf cichlids.

I will use baby brine (both live and frozen) and repashy.
I just had a whole bunch of koi angels hatch today, so they need baby brine.
I think repashy is just a great food to feed fry for the day since I can't be home to feed more than 2 times a day.
I usually use spawn and grow and meat pie flavors for my fish and all of them love it!
