Gorgeous apistos! Cool little fish.

I didn't have any luck with mine, one female killed off the other two and then got egg bound. Couldn't get her unbound. :(

So what are you feeding the babies and are they in a community tank?? I found a cloud of double red babies in my 120 community and I dont think there is any way for me to get them out :(.

Looking good! Looks like the babies are getting some color. How big do they have to be before you can sell/trade/cook/do whatever you do with them?

Now they are eating flake. I fed them bbs and microworms initially.

about 1" :D

Rachel,

Do these need special water pH, or is it the same as with most tankbred fish these days... stable pH being what's important? also, do you think they can get along with rams in a 33 gallon tank?

Not sure what I'm going to do yet... but as you can see, the wheels are a'turnin'... LOL...

I just have them in tap water which is moderately hard. So I would go with teh stable pH stance, lol.

I have no idea how they would do with rams, but I would imagine it would be ok as long as you have ample caves/hides for all of them.

Those are among my favorite dwarf cichlids. :hearts:

Will they be available for sale by mail, or only locally?
