What do you all know or think about aponogetons?? How big do they usually get??

I know there are lace aponogetons, a broad leaf type, and a thin leaf type. What would the smallest tank size be for a broad leaf variety?? What about a thin leaf variety??

Thanks!.!.!.!

Well, the first time I tried apponogetons I dropped a couple of those bulbs you buy at walmart into a 5 gallon tank. They quickly took it over !

I moved them to my 29 and they look much better there. Here's a pic of the tank, just to give you an idea on how large they get and what they look like.....there's a group of various apponogetons on the right side....click on it for a larger view...those small brighter green ones in front are small swords....

I like how they wave in the current...a very nice plant IMO !

Emg, What is the reddish plant on the left side of your tank? I saw it at my LFS, but it was unlabeled so I didn't buy it.

Thanks MQ....I'm glad you are enjoying them...I LOVE to share ! :D

Note, the red plant is a lily or lotus of some sort. I bought them as bulbs at walmart. You don't always get the same type when you buy them there and they don't indicate on the package which type they are...but I LOVE these ! They do very well in my tanks.

oh ok so that is what was in the other bulb package, lol. I may go pickk some up in a few days. How long did the lilies take to germinate/sprout?
