okay i am going to finally be adding some corals to my tank the problem is there are about 25 aptasia every wear. is there something i can treat the whole tank with to get them out or do i need to spot treat them and with what. i have heard all the remidies but which has worked best for you. thanks.

lemon juice and the syringe inject into the stem. you need to be quick when sticking because those little buggers will wil suck back into the rock super quick. dont discount the peppermint shrimp. i have always had good luck with those guys.

I put a coffee mug of water in the microwave for 2 min, then suck up the water in a 30cc dosing syringe and squirt them. They pretty much just melt away.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THEM FOR A WHILE NOW AND HAVE BEEN USING THE BOILING WATER METHOD. IT HASNT BEEN VERY EFFECTIVE FOR ME.YOU CANT LEAVE ANY LITTLE PEICE ALIVE OR THEY WILL KEEP COMING BACK. I HAVE VERY POROUS LR AND THEY JUST RETRACT DEEP INTO THE HOLES AND I CANT SEEM TO GET DEEP ENOUGH. I AM GOING TO TRY THE LEMON JUICE METHOD NEXT AS WELL AS GETTING A PPMINT SHRIMP. I WILL LETT YOU KNOW HOW IT WORKS.

are you angry or are the CAPS on by accident?

nope......not angry. did not realize it was a big deal. catpicklesdog informed me of my forum misconduct. sorry....did not mean to offend anyone. please forgive.

the good news is most of the aptasia is DEAD!!! i tried both lemon juice and boiling water. lemon juice not so helpful. so i took the rocks out one at a time to the kitchen in the sink and shot the pests with boiling water right off the stove. they turned green and melted away. now there are a few left but i didn't want to sqirt them with boiling water due to them being right next to a small clam and a couple of colonies of mini feather dusters. when they grow up they will get a sqirt of joes juice or something like that. the only thing that sucks i the coraline lose but that will come back so no biggie i guess. oh and they guy at the local pharmacy looked at my really weird when i told him i needed a hypodermic needle to kill pest anenome's. no it is off to phishy buisness for some frags. thanks for all the help.

This is what I use to take care of pesky nems and it works everytime without fail. You can get at any LFS either that or lemon juice or boiling water trick works fine as well.
