That is a sub-par unit design. The membrane is actually a nanofilter and does not feature very high rejection. The site also doesn't inform you of the pore size ranges on their prefilters and carbon blocks (or whether or not they use carbon blocks or just granular activated carbon). Also, the DI canisters are horizontally oriented, which makes for poor efficiency. Vertical canisters with cartridges are vastly superior and will save you from buying resin more frequently. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll go with this one... OCEAN REEF + 1 FIVE STAGE 75 GPD RO/DI from The Filter Guys... Or is there something better for the money?

Which brand? If you go the filterguys route, what you have chosen will work just fine (i'd like to see a smaller micron-size prefilter, but that's easily fixed later). If you get the Spectrapure, the 90 gpd is sufficient, unless you feel you'll need more--more does afford you a bit of leeway in terms of being able to do water changes, but isn't really necessary IMHO.

Amp, I've got a whole house filtration system as it is. I was just going to add this to double filter the water for the aquarium.
