This morning I got off the bed and stepped into a paddle - boy, did that wake me up!! Having a 90 gallon in my bedroom and realizing the risks in case of any leaks, often gave me nightmares, and this morning it came true!

Upon investigating, I was "happy" to find out it wasn't my tank that leaked but one of my AquaClear Filters! It did enough damage as my hard-wood floor lifted in a couple of places... I unplugged it and threw it in the sink. :rant2:

The other one is still going, but quite frankly I'm terrified as I've lost my trust in it and will be switching to another filter this week. I can't wait to get rid of it. Just thought I'd share.

Did you recently clean it? Its possible you didn't seat the motor in correctly. It would leak from there pretty easily.

Yeah, I spotted a small crack at the bottom of the filter from where the water was dripping... I'll take a closer look when I get home and give a more detailed description.

It was running for about 4 months, last time I cleaned it was a couple of weeks ago.

I'm losing my trust as well since te **** thing hardly every restarts when it is unplugged and the impeller has to be nudged to get it going again. also suddenly stopped on me a couple times while I was away for the weekend and caused huge spikes in my tank :(
