Aquarium Adventure store... WOW.

Yes they are pricey, but they do have club memebership for a discount, and they reduced the cost of the membership this year also (dont know this might be just a local thing?).

It is not much of a discount. First you have to pay just to get it and then you get 10% off something that is marked up 250%.

The only thing that the discount and the store has over other stores is the plants--they have a huge selection of plants, more then at any other store. I'd still prefer to get my plants from local hobbiests, but the store does have some nice plants, and the 25% discount on them helps. I got a very large red rubin sword for 25% off of 12$, which is quite a bit better then other stores if they even have them.

But Kana--I was just up at the Dublin/Columbus store, and I would wait to get Harliquens from there--they looked BAD--bent backs and pale mis-colored. The espeis still look ok--but they moved them so they are now near a tank full of fungus infected dwarf gouramis. The pearl gouramis looked nice, but once again they were right near those sick fish.

As always you just have to be careful when selecting your fish. I have an Aquarium Adventure that just opened last March and that store is impressive to say the least. They have a huge selection of fish and plants and the staff seems very knowlageable and freindly. Compared to the other local fish stores around here this one seems like the best bet. The best part is that they are only five minutes away from my house.

Thanks for the tip! I might actually check out Petsmart then, the white clouds I got from there have been great.

Well a lifetime membership ($20) almost paid for itself for me in one sale. Also fish are 25% and non-living things are 10% if memory serves.

You are correct. Their fish are reasonably priced and are a great deal with 25% off, but if go their to buy a tank, filter, media, heater, decor or food for them and it is double the price of most other stores.

I don't buy anything there except plants and that's rarely. I've just saw far too many diseased fish for sale and I find it a real turn off. Maybe the non Columbus stores are better.

Thats true... but I have got/seen good deals on tanks too, cheaper than other lfs. I got a display tank for a good deal and I almost bought a 150XH tank there that was $360 on sale, until I found the same tank used. Most of thier other equipment/supplies are pricey. But like I said, I usually only go thier for their annual sales and most often for plants. I have seen some fish there that I have never seen anywehere else locally, but then again I havent been to every lfs either.
