Actually Mdel's stand, braced with a piece of plywood across the back and the sides, would just about hold up a car. The plywood would keep it from moving front to back or side to side and the 2 x 4 legs would provide the vertical support. The nice broad base will bridge any floor joists so the floor itself will be helped to resist any damage.
