Does anyone know of any good aquarium software. Stuff like screen savers or 'virtual fish tanks' or something the like. Every one that I've looked at has spy ware or is share ware. Anything free out there that doesn't come with all the nasties? I'd like something on my computer but I hate adware and what not.

Best screen saver out there by far is the Serenescreen Marine Aquarium, available at www.serenescreen.com. It's not free, but there is a demo version you can download.

Jim Sachs (the creator of the product) is also working on a Freshwater version of this software, but it will be some time before it is released.

Does the free download contain any spyware/adware? Doesn't the free download version have a 'purchase this now at bla bla bla' on it? I don't want to see that everytime I look at my computer lol.

Maxis "El Fish" may be available in a discount software bin (this is a 10+ year old game). Very fun game, though the Mac version is significantly better than the PC version. Good luck.

Not a screensave but there is a good shareware program called Aqualog that that is like a aquarium oriented data base that's pretty nifty.

I'm looking more for cool screen savers, or an actual virtual tank type thing. If I remember correctly I've seen El Fish somewhere before. Isn't that a kids game anyway? Not looking for that, sorry. It would be nice to have one so that when I'm doing homework and need a quick break I can glance at my pc or something like that.

Lazersniper,

Serenescreen Aquarium doesn't include any spyware/adware, but it does have a nag screen that requests that you register (purchase) the a keycode for the full version. Trust me, once you see it, you'll be hard-pressed not to buy it.
