I'm looking at purchasing what looks like an arcadia arc tank from someone via craigslist. The seller says the tank is 8 gallon acrylic, but all the descriptions I see online say that it's either 20 liters (5g) or 35 liters (9g) and glass. Did arcadia ever make an acrylic version of this tank, or is the seller confused? It also seems to be a european tank, so I'm curious how the seller ended up with it in the US. I've attached the picture the seller sent me - does it look like a 20, or a 35 liter to you? Because it comes with a filter and the upgraded light she's asking $40. It looks like it needs to be cleaned. I don't mind if it's glass, but acrylic can be tough to clean.

What do you think? I would use it as an aquascape/planted tank. Is it worth $40? Should I go for it?

I think this is the same tank: http://www.arcadia-uk.info/product.php?pid=68&mid=10&lan=en&sub=&id=4, and I just emailed the seller and told her that even if it's the smaller size, it's too bulky for my narrow dresser because of its shape. I'm really looking for a standard 5.5 gallon type tank, or some kind of all in one like an aqueon or eclipse.

It's not like I really NEED a second tank... I just want one... and I shouldn't be paying $40 for something that isn't ideal, even if it does have a nice light for plants.

*sigh* the search continues. Thanks for your help. :)

I may be wrong, but it looks like the corners of the tank are bent, not angled. This would suggest it's acrylic.
