i ask this because i've only seen common pleco's at my local big chain stores here in san diego... and in local mom and pop shops i've seen a few albino ones... but maybe i haven't been paying attention but i don't remember if i've seen a "pitbull pleco"

i was wondering because i want an algae eater that doesn't get big and from my research pitbull plec's get only like 2-2.5 inches max :)

Bristlenose plecos get about the same size, and they're cute :)

I have seen pit bull plecos in my petsmart before, but idk anything about them.

ok, so i've called around all my local fish stores (big chains and privately owned small shops) and they do not have ANY pitbull pleco's

one of the bigger mom and pop shops i called said they haven't had any for a long time now.. i'm assuming there aren't any breeders in san diego.

Aren't pitbull plecos and rubberlipped plecos the same? I know Petsmart carries rubberlipped.

I believe so, although there could be a discrepancy exactly which Chaetostoma species it is...they all pretty much look the same though.
