Are shrimp asexual?

like earthworms, or do they come in male and female? Just got a pair of Amano shrimp and was wondering if they might mate.

Earthworms aren't asexual. They trade eggs and sperm in that cigar band around their middle, called the clitellum.

All the decapod crustaceans are male and female.

I think amano shrimp do have two sexes. Marine shrimp like cleaners often are hermaphroditic.

Amano shrimp females get much larger than males, at least in my tank... also the females are carrying eggs almost continuously. If you were looking for a way to tell them apart.

Majority of shrimps are not hermaphroditic.

They have males and females specimens. Some of the shrimps, for instance, dwarf freshwater shrimps have visible differences between genders.
