i had a low ph in my guppy tank right now that the snails are in and they are hiding in their shells all day, so i put them in my 29 gallon tank and now they are moving around. were they hiding because they didnt like the low ph? (btw i am getting ph increaser today for that tank)

If these are apple snails you are talking about, they can handle pH between 6.5 - 8.0, so I would not imagine it's a pH issue.
Your snails might just have been getting use to their new environment. My BMS (black mystery snail) took a few days before he started doing a lot of exploring and coming out of his shell.
As for messing with the pH -- this is merely my opinion, but I would not recommend it. It's tough to raise/lower pH and keep it constant. It would be better to just work with what you've got.

ive heard they absorb alot of stuff thru their "skin" so id assume they are picky about ammonia and stuff likethat
sorry i ment gold inca MYSTERY snails. not apple snails. i also went out today and bought a large black mystery snail for the tiger barb tank. I havent got the loach yet so hes in there and is about 2 inches so it is to big for the loach i think. does anyone know if mystery snails can reproduce by themselves?
Mystery snails have two sexes, so one cannot reproduce alone. But they may be able to store sperm or fertilized eggs (comparable to what guppies do) and reproduce witout current access to a male.
Most snails are not picky about metabolites (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate) and can be used to cycle a tank given sufficient numbers. They are quite sensitive to a number of toxins including copper.
