Are there any Cichlids that can live fine in a 20gal or 15gal tank?

:help:I am about to pick up 2 more smaller tanks tonight, a 20 and 15 gal, what Cichlids can thrive in these smaller spaces? German Blue are the only dwarfs I know of offhand that could handle such a small space. I always liked the look of the Yellow Labs and Electric Blues of Lake Malawi (sp?) but herad that I need at least a 55gal to keep them happy. Are there any dwarf Cichlids with as vibrant colors as the Malawis (sp?)??? Thank you.

Apisto's. GBR's were once thought to be Apistos. Cacatoides comes in a wide range of color.

Julii's. Julidachromis Ornatus, Dickfeldii, Regani are all good candidates.

Brichardii or daffodill's. I had 3 daffodill's and 4 tiger barbs in a 15 gallon tank once. The dafodills bred like crazy and had to be transported to a 55 gallon, but it worked for a while...

some nice suggestions there - stay away from the malawis though; tank is just too small for 'em.

Apistos...

I agree....apistos, GBRs, julies...I would also add about any shelldweller available. Multifaciatus, brevis, and occellatus come to mind...

Yes apistos for sure, whatever you do dont try and mix apistos AND shell dwellers!
