Are these plants harmful?

I got like 4 plants in with my 2 arrowhead puffers in a 30 gallon....my big arrowhead now has cottonmouth. My last one died like that as well. Im treating it with salt and pimafix. Should i take the plants out, or some of tyhem. they seem to produce a whitish residue. Is this normal? What else should i do to cure the cottonmouth?

There are a few medicans out for this problem (don't mix more than one treatment :) ). There isn't much to do except to get the best medican you can find, raise the temp. as required on the bottle your ussing, then play the waiting game.
Wait kind of plants do you have? It may be possible that if the plants are not from the same area as the fish, it may not be good to use it. Also look of what the hardness should be and the ph level. This may affect the immunity of the fish as well.

Cottonmouth is usually caused by poor water conditions. Medication is not going to help unless you deal with the cause of the fungus.

What are your pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings?

As well, 30 gallons is not big enough to house two arrowheads. The minimum tank size is 30 gallons for one.

You should really post this in the Brackish Water forum as that is where the moderators would like all the pufferfish posts to go.

What kind of plants are they that you have in the tank?
