I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a Black Ghost Knife fish would be a welcome addition to my community tank. I have a 32 gal. with 2 pearl gourami, 1 gold gourami, 1 blue gourami, 1 pictous catfish, 1 yoyo loach, 1 medium pleco, 1 green sevrum, 1 parrot fish(which was a gift and is not dyed), 1 zebra danio, and 1 black tetra. My tank at the moment is in great shape, everybody gets along, and they all are healthy. I wasn't sure how a ghost knife would make out, any suggestions?

I wouldn't add a BGK unless you plan on getting a much bigger tank in the future. BGK's can grow to be about 20inches...though I do believe they are slow growers. They will eat small fish, like the danios when they're big enough as well.
The fish that you have in your tank already are semi-aggressive to aggressive. The BGK is is very peaceful and laid back, they hide most of the time, unless you have subdued lighting.
IMO, with the fish you already have, you're fully stocked as they all get to a good 4" or bigger and adding another fish that gets even larger, wouldn't be a good idea. This is just my opion though, so wait and see what others have to say. :)

I thought I was pushing my luck! A friend gave me a gift certificate for a local pet store, and I think I am just eager to use it, I tried to use it for supplies, but it can only be used for fish! Thanks for your opinion. I think you are right, I think I am at or beyond my limit!

Is the pleco a Common? If so, it will be too large for your tank... There are other plecos that would probably be a lot better suited for your tank... Perhaps you could take the plec back and get some dry goods in exchange, then use the certificate for a bristlenose, clown pleco, or queen arabesque pleco? Just a thought.

I think my pleco is a common, but not certain, he is about 2.5" long. I have had him now for about 4 months. He seems to be doing well, and has beautiful coloring. If he does get too large I will move him to my brothers 66 gal. He would gladly take him.

I would move him there now, anyways.
