Well - sort of. Although they still belong in Ampullaridae with apple snails, they are in an entirely different genus from most "apple snails" (Marisa as opposed to Pomacea). And common rams are an even more distant relative! But I simply meant that the GCRs are the larger "ramshorn" snails, to distinguish them from the common rams.
