I have a aquamaster 400 and im looking to upgrade it with the "skilter" atachment. I know this filter is a bit old school but does anyone have any knowlledge on these filters?

a "skilter" or protien skimmer and filter (am I right?) will do no good in a freshwater tank, only becuase the bubbles can't be small enough in FW becuase of Ph and salinity.
