I've just recently bought a blue actinic light for my planted tank , I would like to keep it on 24 hours a day so at night it resembles moon light , so my question is ,will that be ok to leave on at night time and will this negatively effect my plants and fish?

(P.S.)I also have a normal light I keep on in the day time that is recommended to promote plant growth..

I know that plants need darkness for photosynthesis so iam hoping by keeping this on at night is not effecting the process..

Is this moon light the only thing that's safe to use our is there other florecent tube lights I could buy for the fixture I have so I won't need to buy a hole new contraption.
