I was cleaning my aquarium yesterday and found what appears to be a very small(2-3mm) anubias congensis with leaves, a rhizome, and roots. Do anubias usually produce babies? I've never heard of this before, and I examined my big A. congensis plant and saw no sign of other baby plants growing. for now, I stuck it in my prefilter sponge so I can keep track of it until it's big enough to identify for sure. Just wondering if anybody else has seen this...

Any part of the rhizome can produce a new plant. So you can get babies from fragments, but they are hard to keep up with- I lose such regularly, especially bits of A.b. nana petite and a newer African species whose submerse form is smaller than nana petite. Even the Amanos uproot them routinely and I find them on the filter intakes, or dying under larger plants.
