Baby Fish?

If it's about 1/8" long, clear(ish) and looks a bit like a piece of hair with two pieces of pepper at one end (eyes), it's probably fry from your platys. Livebearers will breed constantly in your tank, and often are pregnant before you buy them. If there are enough hiding places in the tank some will probably survive, otherwise they'll be lunch for the rest of the tank.

i'd like to know too! i had these in my tank. saved a few but they all died before i could get then to go any significant size =T

i'm thinkin they're premature livebearers. my 2 female swordtails were pregnant at the time.

Allan!

get a fry trap from ur lfs, feed em small particles of food and watch them grow. it's actually quite fun.

I know its a lot of work, but when I have babies in my tank, I use the net to move them to where i can grab them, and possibly keep them in the net, and hold it above the water, with about a third of the net hanging in the water, and then i use a 1 tbsp meauring spoon (because its deeper, and mine are white so easier to see the fry) to scoop them out of the net.

edit: Actually its less work than chasing them around the whole tank with just a spoon :eeek: :thud:

or you could just get a net with a fine holes..lol much easier
