I did a water change yesterday and today the eggs are hatching, but I think some of the babies are dying because they kind of flail around the tank and lay on the substrate upside down and on their sides, but they still seem to be alive.. Another thing happen today, one of my older male shrimp died, was acting kinda the same way, few hours later it was dead..

Is this normal for the babies?

I do a water change once a week to 10 days at 35%
Nitrate is at 0 to 5
pH is at 7.8
Temp 74-75f

what kind of shrimp are they? Are they the cherries in your sig?

Yes, Cherry shrimp

I can see about 10 tiny shrimp at one end of the tank, they are all on there backs with there legs moving, once in a while or when disturbed they will sprint a quick jolt and fall back to the substrate..
One of them I noticed is dead.
What the others are doing on their backs I have no idea, learning to swim?

I'd let them be. Their shells are not hard yet, if they are freshly hatched. My crayfish has done this after molting it really looks wose than it is. I seriously think they just need time to harden up and adjust to your water, they SHOULD be ok.

check amm and nitrite,
also i'd put a sponge filter in there also for bio filter just in case,
that filter isn't quite enough for a 10g, how many snails are in there and are the briggs? for large snails have a good amount of bio load, adult brigs should get 2 1/2 gal each,..

perhaps the amm, is getting spiked after waterchanges
don't change filter media the same day as water change day,. to help in this

All the babies are dead and another male has died today. He is still alive but laying on his back kicking his legs, almost like a seizure or something..
I also noticed that some 1/4" size shrimp are dead also.
The shrimp are not swimming around the tank, that are kinda staying in groups huddled together..

My Nerite snails and Trumpet snails seem to be ok

I don't change my filter when I do water changes, I just rinse them out in the clean dechlorinated water really well and place it back in the filter.
I use a Bio-Wheel Mini

My Ammonia and Nitrite are 0.0

I think I have figured out what is killing my shrimp..
I change the type of tobacco that I smoke.
I use to smoke American spirit tobacco that has no additives of any kind, just pure tobacco. I bought a can a bugler crap tobacco 3 days ago, since yesterday my shrimp have started to die at a pretty rapid rate.. The residue on your fingers from this tobacco is very toxic, the natural tobacco I used before I never had any problems. I got 12 shrimp 3+ months ago and I haven't lost a single one until 2 days after changing tobacco products.. That's is the only thing that has changed that could be killing my shrimp.. Or something toxic in my water supply..
