Is there a unique way to plant dwarf baby tears? Mine continually grow vertically, not spreading into a carpeting plant. Any thoughts?

they need steady co2 and medium to high light to carpet. otherwise ehty'll reach for the light. helps to plant the individually, by pulling their root through the soil down diagonally. also really helps if you plant them in wet substrate before you fill the tank. they'll stay down way better.

I have about 3 watts per gallon with pressurized CO2. I thought that is enough lighting? My tank is already established I do not has the luxury of a new setup. What can I do to fix it? I am not quit sure I understand mellow's process. Would I be better off trying my luck with a different carpeting plant?

Planting - use tweezers for individual stems (best, if you have the patience of a Zen master or the speed of a sweat-shop seamstress) or a few stems at a time. Poke 'em down about 1.5x as deep as you want them, then gently grab the exposed part and pull it back out 1/3 of the way. If it's a long one, you can trim it off and repeat with the remaining top.

Plant them only in unshaded areas. If they still refuse to stay down, you will have to trim frequently and/or add more light.
