Hello! New to the forum, and getting back into the reef keeping hobby. It's been a while since I've been into it and I am going to order a few books to refresh my memory on the hobby. ( any suggestions for a book that dealt with the new advances in the hobby would be cool ). But when I was into it, I had amazing success. I had a 45 "high" gallon tank with an "Amiracle" Berlin series filter that worked great. I had Perculas that were spawning underneath my Carpet Anemone, I had leather coral that was growing all over the place. My live rock became encrusted with wonderful Pink Algae. I had hard and soft corals galore.

I used only 4 VHO bulbs for the lighting. One Actinic and 3 daylights. The combo was perfect.

On to my question. I am seriously intrigued by a Refugium based system. And I was wondering if it were possible to convert my Amiricle Berlin filter, into a Refugium? If so, can anyone give me some pointers? I would really like to utilize this filter, as it's just sitting in my closet collecting dust.

I have a 55 gallon tank that I plan to use for this reef. I also plan on upgrading to a new lighting system. One that utilizes the "micro" sized VHO type lights, that also has the LED "moon" lights integrated into it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!:cool-1:
