GRRR...I just called my LFS to see if they would take my goldfish back and they said no. I have no where to put the fish, I asked my mom for money so I could buy a bigger tank, and she said they were perfectly happy in my 10g (theres 4 of them, overstocked, I know) and she said they wont get to 8-10" and when they died we'd buy new ones. I was so mad. She just doesnt get it and my fish are so crowded, I need homes for them, but I can't find any....HELP!

Sorry to hear that! You could try posting in the classifieds here on AC, offering them free to a good home. Do you want them to be kept as pets? I'm sure there are some people with large cichlids who would take them as feeders, but it's understandable if that's not an option.
[edit] just looked at your specs - is the 40g no longer an option? Would your mom be open to reading some of the forum posts or other stuff online about what goldfish need to stay happy? Maybe you could approach her with the idea of finding a used tank and equipment - much cheaper than new. Good luck :)[/edit]

I would DEFINETLY like them to be taken as pets, they are fancy goldfish, I might put them in a pond outside becuase they are getting to put 4-5"!

I had a problem with the 40g having a crack in the bottom so I have to change that, I can't fix it without the whole tank shattering with my fish flopping everywhere...I don't know anyone who keeps goldfish, or has a tank to put them in, I would ship them and i just REALLY need to find them a new home this week!

Sorry about that, I posted before reading your specs and seeing that they're not 'common' goldfish.
If you've got a pond, that's perfect - just make sure they're slowly acclimated if the conditions are very different from those in your tank.
You can fix the 40g, it's not too hard. You'd need a new piece of glass, some silicone, and maybe another person or two to help you. If you want to try it, you can post to the DIY section and ask for step-by-step instructions; someone will walk you through it.

I offered to a ton around me, but all of them say they won't take them because they might "carry a disease" which is absurd because I know they have no diseases what so ever...

and with the repairing, i could do it but my dad's friend who works with glass and aquariums says that its impossible to fix without the whole tank shattering...

its the bottom....I am almost positive I can't fix this...

I've just posted to the DIY forum with a link to this thread, asking if anyone's done it. I'm almost certain I saw someone there discussing how it can be done, but then again, I've been wrong before.

thanks....if it could and has been done, I'll try it...
