Ok I have a bala shark thats about 2-2.5 inches long and today I was watching them together and I noticed he has red coloring all around his fins. I am new to keeping balas and was wondering if this is normal the other 4 are around 3.5-4.0 inches long and do not have this coloration. Anybody seen it before ?

well, what size is your tank?
what are the other tank mates?
what are the water params?
is the tank cycled?
how long has the tank been set up?

need more information to be able to help

A picture would be helpful, as well.

OK water levels are
ammonia-0ppm
nitrite-0ppm
nitrate-0-0.25ppm
pH-7.2

tank mates are 2 angelfish and a pleco and 4 other balas and tank size is 55 gallons,I know they will outgrow I'm in the process of find a 100 gallon to move them into.Yes tank has also been cycled has been established for about a month and a half now

How about a picture?

I've kept balas for a number of years and have never seen any color beyond shades of silver/gray. Agree that pics would help.
