I have my 3 balas in my 100 gallon, and..well, they're only 3 or 4 inches, and I've noticed the two larger ones ( And I do mean large! I'll have pictures up tonight hopefully ) rubbing their tail ends together, and their sides. I have no idea what they are doing, and I don't imagine a fish that grows to 12" being...ermm "ready" this small. It's mostly behind their farthest anal fins they rub, and it's just very, very strange.
Any input would be helpful! Thanks!!

I also have 2 and they do the exact same thing. Its weird how in sync they are cause they are swimming rather fast when doing this also. I just thought they were dancing and left them alone :)

If I remember correctly, this "dancing" is a pecking order process. I read it somewhere on the net and thought it was odd for them to be in sync like that and to be considered a domination dance. Hope this helps! Chow!
