I am considering a higher output ballast for my t5s and would like to know if the ice caps are really the only choice to with. my lights are 4 bulbs and 60 inch length. it seems that the icecap 660 will only be able to power up 3 of the 4 bulbs so I would end up having to buy 2 of these units with an expense of about $300.

Ice caps are a very good brand. Sorry I didnt reply I figure someone would have by now.
Sometimes i feel like I am giving a bad impression answering lots of posts..

I am no SalT guru here..but trying to help as much as I can ..god knows I learned the hard way so I try to prevent others from doing the same.

Ice cap ballasts are a very good product and reputable company. Prices are good.

I have used CoralVu and Icecaps and both are about the same price ranges and quality to me. Also several Reefers in local club here use Ice Cap to. Nobody has any quarrel with the quality and prices.

Give Chris a call at IceCap, (800) 7-ICECAP or (609) 588-5338, or send him an email, chris@icecapinc.com. They are located right here in NJ, and he would be more than willing to discuss your retrofit.

In regard to your original question, as far as I know (and that’s not much), Icecap is the only company that overdrives their ballasts.

Yes. Actually, IceCap 660 ballasts are the only ones that overdrive T5 bulbs. Far more bang for your buck than most/all other T5 options out there.
