I just got a small Banana Plant (aquatic of course) and i was just trying to figure out how to plant it haha. I know this sounds stupid but i don't know if you're supposed to put the banana looking things into the gravel or what? its got a few small roots but they're in between the "bananas". right now i've got those covered under the gravel but since looking at pictures of those plants i see that the banana things are not covered. how do i plant it if the roots are just little and in between the bananas? .... How can you tell i'm a newbie to plants?? Hahaha :newbie: Thanks for any help or suggestions!

dont bury the "bananas"... those are tubers, not roots, the white things are the roots. just place the banana plant where you want it and it will root itself.

Yeah, but it keeps floating up to the top thats why i buried it

I also got 3 banana plants yesterday from a friend and you should just tie it up to a rock or something with a string. I also have one question about these plants. My banana plants were shipped to me and came yesterday and the leaves are broken and should i just brake off all the leaves and let new ones grow or should i leave them be?

hmmm...if it was my plant i think i would just let the leaves be and see if they grow back...unless they're really bad then maybe you could take them off. but anyway, i guess i'll figure out a way to tie it somehow...not much to tie it to though...

I always bury the bananas that come with short roots, they'll simply push themselves back out within a week, and by then it'd have grown a strong enough root system to keep itself down.
