If I was to prune the taller growing leaves on my banana plants, would they become trained to grow lower and not toward the surface? I was thinking they may be like lotus plants in that respect.

Banana plants I've kept in the past would only put up a single runner at a time. I trimmed them off and they filled out some, but always kept pushing one leaf up.
Mine are doing really well, nice bright green color and a new leaf every week or two.
Being a rookie at this, I have them planted towards the front of my tank, and thought they'd look nice if I could keep them growing lower. I may have to dig it up eventually. This one plant has sent two leaves towards the top of the tank. I am going to experiment with it !
