barbs eating algae

I know I saw somewhere that some types of barbs eat algae. I did a search but really didn't come up with anything definitive.

Anyone have any input on what types of barbs and what types of algae do they eat?

I think it's Rosy Barbs. I know they have been known to eat BBA, not sure beyond that though.... they may not be too picky with the type.

I've heard the above as well. Granted I'm not sure what overall effect they have...

I know that rosy barbs are quite effective at eating hair algae (might be the same thing as BBA) but other that that, I don't think they are very effective.
