Base rock?

Another question please. Sorry to bother you all.

I have recently set up a 24 gallon Nano tank.It has cycled by the way.
I want to add some Base rock as i want to add a bit more height to the live rock already in there.
As i don't want to add more live rock as i have read that this would cause a Ammonia spike,is it ok to add some base rock and then put the live rock on top of the base rock?

Would this have any affect on my already cycled tank?

Yes, that would be fine..If you buy fully cured live rock, and add it in small ammounts, the spike will be minimal and the bacteria will ahve no issues dealing with it...
