A quick question here. Do I have to cure base rock before adding it to my tank or can I just dump it into my already established tank?

This is just dead, dry rock, correct? If so, just dump it in. There shouldn't be anything on it that would make it need to be cured.

make sure it isnt bleached. some places jsut bleach dead or dying baserock isntead of letting it dry.

Why do they bleach the rock, instead of drying it? Seems like that would cause some problems for their customers.

Make sure you rinse it off first, you don't want to bring any unwanted dirt in the tank with it. Believe me, it's there.

LFS told me to soak in bleach water for a day, rinse and than soak in Prime for another day. Does this sound right?

ok well first thing about 95% of the LR in my tank was all bleached. I found it to be cheaper to place dead rock in my tank and then let it become live in its own time. Took about 4-6 months. I had no problems with the rock and didnt even have to worry about hitchhikers. Here is a link to pics of my tank and you can see it is just as beautiful as anyones tank that spends hundreds plus on LR.
